  • Does UWRG Perform Mold Testing Services?

No. As a mold remediation company, it would be a conflict of interest to perform these services. However, we can recommend air quality testers in your area. Please contact your local operation manager for more information.

  • What Are Some Signs That I May Need Mold Remediation?

There are a few ways for you to know if you may need mold remediation services. One sign is that you've had a water event or water intrusion in the home. Discoloration on flooring, walls, or ceilings can also be an indicator of mold growth and water damage. Any musty or mildew odors in the home can also indicate mold growth.

Finally, if anyone in your home is experiencing severe health effects or is allergic to mold, it's important to always be vigilant of the potential for mold growth in the home.

  • Does UWRG Remove Mold From Furniture and Clothing as Well?

No. Unfortunately, UWRG doesn't handle those items and we would recommend disposing of any clothing that may be contaminated with mold spores to prevent the resurgence of mold in the home after restoration.

  • Does Bleach Kill Mold?

Bleach is not an effective chemical in ridding your home or business of mold. While it certainly can prove to be an effective cleaning chemical, it is not recommended for use against mold colonies.

  • When is Mold Removal Needed?

While any mold colony can be a troubling sign, mold removal or mold damage remediation is not warranted until the problem becomes widespread. In order for us to administer our mold damage remediation services, there must be at least 10 square feet of consistent mold colonies.

  • Who Pays for Mold Remediation?

Depending on the situation at your property, your insurance may or may not cover mold remediation. Typically, for most policies, mold removal is only approved by insurance companies if the source of mold is created by a peril that is covered, such as water damage.

  • How Much Does Mold Remediation Cost?

The average cost for mold remediation can be anywhere from $500-$7,000. It varies depending on the severity of the mold remediation needed.

  • How Long Does Mold Remediation Take?

Our mold removal process typically lasts anywhere from 1 to 7 days depending on the severity of the problem. While this is the average, some cases can take longer.

  • Can I Stay in My Home During Mold Remediation?

Depending on your level of comfort and the scope of the job, you may be able to stay in your home during our mold remediation process. However, the safest and most comfortable option is typically to temporarily leave your property while our services are administered.

  • Does United Water Restoration Group Do Mold Inspections?

Due to laws in certain states, a third-party company has to complete the mold inspection. Though we can provide mold remediation services, we cannot complete the initial mold inspection of your property. However, we can refer you to a mold inspection company.

  • I Can Smell Mold, But I Don't See It?

Mold can hide in various places, such as an attic, crawlspace, and even behind walls. If you smell the odor mold is commonly associated with, it potentially may be in a lesser-traveled area of the property or behind the walls.

  • Are United Water Restoration Group Technicians Qualified to Handle Mold?

United Water Restoration Group technicians are all trained and certified through the Institute of Inspection For Cleaning And Restoration (IICRC).

  • How Can I Find Hidden Mold?

Mold hidden behind walls may require advanced tools to not only discover but remediate as well. If you suspect mold is growing behind your walls, you should seek assistance from professional service providers.
