Step 4 : Following the Protocol
Our mold remediation specialists are trained to analyze the protocol of the mold hygienist and follow every step correctly. Usually the specialist will begin by containing rooms that are affected in order to stop growth to other areas of the home. Then they will remove all materials affected by mold and use an antimicrobial agent to wipe down everything in the room to prevent any further mold spores from returning. If the damage is severe the technicians will wear hazmat suits to protect themselves from the mold. Also, they will do a fogging which kills the mold spores in the air.
Step 5 : Equipment Placement
Our mold specialists will take notes of the proper equipment to place in the infected areas. Typically, equipment used would include a dehumidifier and an air scrubber in order to lower air moisture levels and airborne mold particles. Depending on the severity, this process can last anywhere between 3 and 5 days. During this time, we inspect every day to make sure we are getting the job done correctly.
Step 6 : Sanitation & Sterilization
Once the materials containing mold spores have been removed in addition to any remediation equipment, our team will begin a deep clean. This will include wiping all walls, mopping floors, and cleaning vertical surfaces. Additionally, we make sure all corners are swept and surfaces have been HEPA vacuumed.
